The
Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality – Office of Environmental
Compliance (LDEQ/OEC), Underground Storage Tank and Remediation Division
(USTRD) will receive comments on the final remedy selection for corrective
action regarding the Chevron Oronite Company LLC, Oak Point Plant, 10285
Highway 23 South, Belle Chase, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
LDEQ
has reviewed all documents related to the closure of the Solid Waste Management
Units (SWMUs) and Areas of Concern (AOCs) subject to corrective action at this
facility and has made a preliminary determination that the proposed corrective
measures are adequate to serve as the Final Remedy for this facility under the
provisions of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Hazardous
and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA) to RCRA, the Louisiana Environmental Quality Act, the 2009 Cooperative
Agreement for Site Investigation and Remediation between LDEQ and Chevron
Oronite Company, LLC and the 2007 Hazardous Waste Post-Closure Permit LAD
043199802-PC-1 for Chevron Oronite Company, LLC.
Comments and requests for a public hearing or notification of
the final decision can be submitted via
personal delivery, U.S. mail, email or fax.
Comments
and requests for public hearings must be
received by 4:30 pm CDT, Monday, June 24, 2013. Delivery may be made to the drop-box at 602 N.
5th St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802.

writing to the LDEQ, Public Participation Group as described above to be
considered.
