Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF), located at 13800 Old Gentilly Rd., Orleans
Parish, New Orleans, Louisiana, is notifying you of a Class 11
Permit Modification to Hazardous Waste Permit No. LA4800014587-OP-RN-1. As required by Louisiana Department of
Environmental Quality (LDEQ) regulations, NASA is mailing this notice to
everyone who has requested that they be notified of hazardous waste-related
activities at MAF or is on the LDEQ facility mailing list maintained and
provided by LDEQ.
NASA
submitted notification of a Class 11 Permit Modification to LDEQ on
May 17, 2012, to revise its Closure and Inspection Plans. An addendum to the Closure Plan was submitted
by NASA on August 3, 2012, and LDEQ approved the modification request on August
16, 2012.
This
permit modification will not adversely change any hazardous waste operations at
MAF or make significant substantive changes to the Closure and Inspection
Plans. A copy of the permit modification
is available for review at the LDEQ Public Records Center located at 602 North
5th Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
