The principal discharge from this existing source is made into Calcasieu River Ship Channel, water of the state classified for primary contact recreation and propagation of fish and wildlife. Under SIC Code 2813 the applicant proposes to discharge utility wastewaters (noncontact cooling tower blowdown, boiler blowdown, water softener backwash, and steam condensate), and miscellaneous de minimis discharges from fire training activities, eyewash stations, safety showers, uncontaminated groundwater from monitoring activities, compressor condensate, steam condensate, and general facility wash waters where no detergents are used and no spills or leaks of hazardous materials have occurred (unless spill material has been properly removed) (Outfall 001); treated sanitary wastewater (Outfall 002); and uncontaminated stormwater runoff from process and non-process areas (Outfall 003), from a sulphur hydrogen manufacturing plant.
